Four. | {Lake Forest, IL Photographer}

Miss Eleanor Lily turned four back in March, and as I posted here, she had a "rainbow pony" birthday party.  She wore a rainbow tutu and a cute little shirt found on etsy with her name embroidered over an appliqued "4".  Super cute!  Of course the shirt went missing when it came time for photos, but I think the simplicity of the solid shirt turned out best.  I had this series of photos in my head since her party but was waiting until the summer for obvious reasons.  This is part 3 of the "balloon" session I did with the girls in August.

You really cannot go wrong with the classic, bold color combination of red and black.  To soften it and add depth, layer shades of gray along with it, and have fun with it!  You can still be classy with a little it of whimsy.  Think about sparkly tights, a fun (but not too large!) hairbow, or even a zebra striped headband.

This is a perfect combination for downtown sessions against neutral or even white building backdrops with lots of texture.  This can also provide a pop of color in an otherwise neutral/brown field, or along a wooden fence in late fall.

Other business:

*There are still some spots left for the fall mini-sessions.  These are great for that holiday card photo, a milestone photo (baby's 6 month, back to school.. etc.).. or I invite you to think about leaving the kids at home for this one.  How about a special session dedicated to documenting you and your spouse as a couple?  I love to see real love of all ages, whether it's one year or fifty.  Sometimes we forget to think of ourselves and focus only on that of being parents.  What a perfect gift.

This little family of three is soon to become a family of four.  (You may remember their sneak peek, here). It was a sweet moment in time that needed to be documented.  I love that while it was a maternity session, we focused on the family that they are now, as their next session will be a family of -FOUR!-

What to Wear Wednesday- Orange!

I love orange, but often times we aren't sure of what to pair with it.  Here's one idea, adding some pops of pink, navy, and different shades of brown.  Dad could throw on a brown or olive jacket if he wished as well.
